Refund Policy
Builstry is designed around protected milestone-based escrow payments. Clients maintain control of labour funds until work is approved and released.
1. Overview
Builstry does not directly charge clients for using the platform. Instead, clients deposit agreed labour funds into a secure escrow process tied to project milestones.
Funds remain under client control until milestone work has been reviewed and approved for release.
2. Escrow Protection
Labour funds deposited into escrow are securely held until the client approves the relevant milestone or project stage.
This system helps reduce upfront payment risks, improves accountability, and protects both clients and builders.
3. Refund Eligibility
Clients may request refunds for labour funds that remain unreleased in escrow, subject to project agreements, milestone conditions, and any active dispute review.
- Funds not yet released may qualify for return
- Refund requests may require project review
- Disputed milestones may pause withdrawals temporarily
- Refunds may be denied where work has already been completed and approved
4. Released Payments
Once a client approves a milestone and releases labour funds, the payment is considered completed and transferred to the builder.
Payments already released by the client are generally non-refundable, except where required by law or determined through formal dispute resolution.
5. Platform Fees
Builstry applies a platform fee to builders only after milestone funds have been successfully released by the client.
The platform fee is currently calculated as 8% of the released labour amount.
Clients are not charged platform fees for depositing funds into escrow.
6. Disputes
If disagreements arise regarding milestone completion, Builstry may assist in facilitating communication between parties.
During active disputes, escrow withdrawals or refunds may be temporarily paused until the matter has been reviewed.
7. Refund Processing Times
Approved refunds may take several business days depending on payment providers, banking institutions, and transaction verification processes.
